Veteran Emmerdale actor Chris Chittell is among the famous faces and inspirational people who were included in the 2019 birthday honours list yesterday.
The soap star, who has been part of the cast of Emmerdale as Eric Pollard for over three decades, is being awarded a British Empire Medal.
According to Digital Spy Chris admits he's overwhelmed to be honoured, saying: "When I first heard I would be receiving this honour I couldn't quite believe it.
"Then I thought of the hundreds of people I have met along the way who give up their time for others and are not set to receive an accolade, so I share this with them.
"I am overwhelmed I've been given this for my drama and charity work."
Chris' character Pollard has been going through a tough time in Emmerdale of late.
