Fans of Emmerdale want the soap to get rid of ‘hypocrite’ Nicola King.
For months, viewers saw schoolteacher Maya Stepney groom her pupil, and boyfriend’s son, Jacob Gallagher.
The abuse happened right under Jessie’s nose and as the education disciplinary panel pointed out – she missed opportunities to put an end to the schoolboy’s ordeal.
In last night’s episode of Emmerdale (August 12 2019) Nicola delivered some home truths to Jessie Dingle.
Jessie, who had recently been suspended from her job as headteacher of Hotten Academy, asked Nicola, Bernice and Liam to make positive statements to the board.
However, Nicola was quick to speak her mind. She said to Jessie: “Seriously? If your job was that important to you, maybe you should’ve done it better.”
She then went on to blame Jessie for Maya grooming Jacob. the local councillor said: “I have a responsibility to my constituents with kids in the school to tell the truth, no matter how difficult that truth may be.”

Nicola also revealed she spoke to the parents who were asked to give their opinion about Jessie.
She then said: “It wasn’t an easy thing to do but it happened on your watch Jessie, there’s only one person to blame and it’s you.”
However fans didn’t necessarily support Nicola and her words.
In a Digital Spy forum called ‘Emmerdale Nicola’ a viewer wrote: “Really wish they would get rid of Nicola’s character. She’s vile. Does my head in the way she looks down her nose at everyone judging them with all she’s done.
“As if anyone would put up with her.”
Viewers agreed with the original poster.
One wrote: “Ah she does my head in. She’s the worst character in the soap!”

A second said: “I never liked her and never will. Get rid of her ASAP!”
Another said: “Her rant about Maya was a bit hypocritical as she slept with Robert when he was the same age Jacob was with Maya, and she was in her mid to late twenties. Not as bad as she wasn’t his teacher but still creepy.”
Emmerdale is on Monday to Friday at 7pm with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursday on ITV.
