Maya Stepney’s grooming of Jacob Gallagher takes a sinister turn next week when the pair have a huge fight that ends with Maya being left fighting for her life.
Emmerdale fans will know that evil Maya has been grooming teenager Jacob for months, somehow managing to keep what she is doing a secret from boyfriend David Metcalfe, who just happens to be Jacob’s adoptive dad.
But as the dark storyline continues into next week, a huge twist comes when Maya gets jealous of Jacob’s budding relationship with Liv Flaherty.

When the teacher sees Jacob arrive at Liv’s house, only for her to quickly pull him inside, Maya has a pang of jealousy about their date and decides to interfere.
As Jacob and Liv enjoy their date, with Liv being left thrilled when Jacob seems to accept her asexuality, it seems like their relationship is going from strength-to-strength as they snuggle up together on the sofa.
But while the teenagers are enjoying spending time together, Maya is plotting against them in her jealous rage.
When she bumps into Aaron and Robert Maya ‘accidentally’ lets slip that Jacob is over at Mill Cottage with Liv, knowing it will get the pair into trouble.
And her plan works a treat when Aaron storms home and, catching the pair looking cosy, he promptly throws Jacob out of the house, leaving Liv mortified.
The next day Jacob and Maya are sharing an illicit moment, when they almost get caught out by Aaron.
But as Aaron chats it soon becomes clear to Jacob that Maya is the reason his date with Liv ended so abruptly the night before, and he’s fuming.
Yelling at Maya to stay away from him, Jacob seems to be finally starting to see Maya for who she really is, leaving the school teacher crushed.
Manipulative Maya tries to apologise, but she’s left terrified when Jacob threatens to tell David all about their affair, leaving her unnerved that her huge – not to mention illegal – secret is about to be exposed.
Realising that she has lost control over Jacob, Maya’s world starts to come crashing down… leaving her petrified that her sickening grooming is just hours away from being revealed.

In a panic, Maya decides the only thing she can do is flee the village and sets about packing her bags, preparing to leave everything behind in order to keep her dark lies hidden.
But as she is preparing to leave things take a sinister turn as she falls and hits her head, leaving her unconscious on the floor.
Will anyone find her in time? And with Jacob about to reveal everything to David, is the biggest secret in Emmerdale about to be exposed before Maya wakes up?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
