It’s fair to say Emmerdale‘s Jacob Gallagher has had one hell of a year so it shouldn’t come as much surprise when he misses out on getting good exam grades next week.
But what’s more worrying is the fact he seems to still be in touch with evil Maya Stepney.
Schoolteacher Maya groomed Jacob into believing they were in a relationship.

As well as being in a position of power as his teacher, Maya was also his dad, David Metcalfe‘s, girlfriend, making the whole thing even more sick.
Maya and Jacob were finally caught out during the soap’s Big Night Out episodes when Priya Kotecha saw them kissing.
But after Priya, Leyla Harding and Tracy Metcalfe drove Maya to the woods and beat her, leaving her for dead, the girls were powerless to report Maya to the police for her crimes when she returned for fear they’d go to prison too.
Maya eventually pleaded guilty to sending explicit text messages to a minor, and got a lighter sentence of a year which means she could potentially be out in six months.
Fans were outraged at the sentence, but Jacob has vowed to wait for his lover, determined they will still be together.
However, his family don’t know he’s been making plans with Maya – and he intends to keep it that way.
Next week, Jacob prepares for his GCSE results and David, Leyla and Pollard all hope against hope he will have done enough.
But with Jacob failing to attend most of his exams, not doing any revision and being distracted by Maya throughout, it should hardly be surprising when the news is disappointing.
As his family try to bouy him up, he doesn’t really care all that much as he knows he has plans with Maya for their future.
A sympathetic Priya invites Jacob for lunch and tries to be a listening ear, but she’s left stunned by Jacob’s frankly awful behaviour.
As he lashes out and storms off, Priya’s at the end of her tether.

With a Christmas release date on the cards for Maya, will Jacob get what he wants and be reunited with the woman he believes he loves?
Will we see Maya again?
Or can Jacob’s family make him realise what Maya did was wrong and their relationship wasn’t real or right?
