There’s trouble in store for Emmerdale’s David Metcalfe next week when girlfriend Maya Stepney catches him kissing his ex wife, Tracy.
Soap fans have watched in horror over recent months as evil paedophile Maya has been grooming David’s adoptive son Jacob, but David is clueless.
The teacher has abused her position of authority by getting closer to her boyfriend’s son, and the pair finally slept together after months of careful game-playing by Maya earlier this year.

But next week sees a fresh twist in the storyline when David plans to propose to Maya and the fallout is huge.
Knowing that there is something that Maya isn’t telling him, David quizzes her when she sells her car.
She lies that she needs the cash to pay for her divorce, when really she is desperately trying to raise the money to pay Liv Flaherty to keep quiet after she caught her in bed with Jacob.
But David is none the wiser and buys her lies, and plans to pop the question in the hope it will give his girlfriend something to smile about again.
But when he tells Jacob that he is going to get down on one knee with Val’s ring, the teenager is horrified because he and Maya stole the ring and pawned it to pay off Liv.
Jacob tells Maya about his dad’s planned proposal, and when Maya and David head out for a night clubbing with some of the other villagers, Maya tells David she knows he is planning to ask her to marry him.
But instead of it being the romantic moment that he had been planning, David is left heartbroken when Maya tells him not to propose and turns him down!
David is understandably heartbroken and turns to ex wife Tracy to vent.
As the pair chat in the nightclub, it is clear there’s still a little spark between them because their chatting soon turns into a kiss… only for Maya to witness the whole thing.

She is fuming to see David with Tracy, which is more than a little hypocritical when she has spent the last few months grooming her boyfriend’s son!
She dashes out of the nightclub and finds Jacob. But soon David’s kiss with Tracy is going to be the least of her worries when someone catches her with Jacob.
How will David feel when he finds out that his girlfriend and son have been having a forbidden affair right under his nose?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
