The court has heard how the alleged incident took place after a fight broke out in a beer garden at a pub in Oldham in July 2018 when Mark was celebrating his engagement to then-co-star Laura Norton, aka Kerry Wyatt.

Andrew Potts and his partner Rosalind O’Neill were in the beer garden at the time and according to the BBC Ms O’Neil said “I hope they’re using a condom” – referring to Mr Jordon’s daughter and a man she was with.

CCTV footage played in court showed Mark being held back from Mr Potts and prosecuter Robert Smith stated: “[Mr Jordon] was enraged and was behaving in a physically violent and threatening matter.”

Mr Jordon allegedly told the police Mr Potts called his daughter an expletitive.

The court heard Mr Potts also punched and kicked Mr Jordon before being escorted from the pub.

Mr Potts denied recording Mr Jordon’s daughter and saying he’d put the recording on YouTube, but he did admit he might have said: “You think you’re clever because you’re on TV,” to Ms Norton.

After leaving the pub Mr Potts and Ms O’Neill were said to have been confronted by Mr Jordon, who reportedly pushed Ms O’Neill to the floor.

“It was just horrendous, he was growling like a mad dog,” Mr Potts said, according to the BBC.

Mr Potts said Mr Jordon bit his thumb and the palm of his hand, spitting out a chunk of skin, and the pair fell to the ground where Mr Jordon bit his eyebrow.

The defence suggested Mr Potts himself had pushed his partner out of the way before jumping on Mr Jordon’s back and putting his fingers and thumb inside his mouth to grab his cheek. Mr Potts denied this claim.

Mark’s former co-stars Chris Chittell (Eric Pollard), Nick Miles (Jimmy King), and Sammy Winward (Katie Sugden) were in the front row of the public gallery, according to The Independent.

The trial continues.
