Emmerdale’s David Metcalfe has FINALLY found out about his girlfriend’s abuse of son Jacob Gallagher.
On Thursday night (May 9), the blinkers fell from his eyes as he was told the truth about Maya Stepney’s sexual relationship with the schoolboy.
And the fallout was horrible to watch.

In harrowing scenes, Leyla, Tracy and Priya tried to make Jacob realise he’d been the victim of abuse, but he remained blindly loyal to his abuser.
When they discovered he was loaded with cash and had Maya’s passport with him, clearly planning to go on the run, they forced him to come clean to David.
And a reluctant Jacob told David that he and Maya had been together all along, saying: “She’s my girlfriend.”

David listened in disbelief as his son told him he loved Maya and had been having sex with her.
At first David’s reaction was anger at his son, until Leyla intervened, branding Maya a paedophile.
David broke down in tears – blaming himself for being unaware of it.
He was left sobbing, as Jacob was seen running away, with intent to elope with Maya.
He said: “If she’s hurt him I’m the one to blame.”
Many fans were moved by the scenes, however others were furious when David resolved NOT to go to the police.
Instead, the devastated dad seemed to decide to take matters into his own hands calling Maya and demanding she “give me back my son”.
But Emmerdale viewers were livid that once again, the police weren’t informed about Maya’s actions.
One said: “Can’t believe they’re still not phoning the police for Maya – like that would really happen… #Emmerdale.”

A third complained: “#Emmerdale. All these people know now about Maya and yet nobody has called the police. Wish these writers would get a grip on reality.”
“Only recently have I started getting into #Emmerdale and I think it is incredible,” said one more. “But, oh my god, David just ring the police and PUT MAYA AWAY.”
