Emmerdale: Fans fuming as Amy and Kerry get away with starting factory fire

Frank has been named the guilty party

The police dealt a devastated blow to Tracy Metcalfe and Vanessa Woodfield in last night’s Emmerdale – they’ve closed the case into the fire at the factory and ruled Frank was to blame.

Despite Tracy believing her dad is innocent and being devastated at the news, one person who was quite happy about the decision was Kerry Wyatt.

Viewers know Kerry and her daughter Amy started the fire and have been covering their tracks ever since.

In fact, as Amy grapples with her conscience, Kerry even went so far as to tell the police she thought Frank had done it and try to give them evidence of the fact.

Last night (Thursday August 16), Kerry was hiding in the bushes as the police visited Tracy and Vanessa and told them they’d decided Frank was responsible for starting the fire.

After telling the sisters they’d officially closed the investigation, they said Frank’s body would be released.

Kerry tried not to act too relieved when factory boss Jai Sharma caught her eavesdropping and confirmed the police were “satisified it was Frank”.

He then asked her if she had lost an engagement ring – stating the police had found it and returned it to him, but he didn’t know anything about it.

Of course, viewers know Frank had bought the engagement ring for girlfriend Megan and have been wondering where it is, hoping it would exhonerate Frank.

Kerry said she didn’t know anything about it, which means it could still play a vital role in her downfall…

But for now, fans are furious that Kerry and Amy have got away with, essentially, murder and expressed their feelings on Twitter.

As Amy made the decision not to pursue custody of Kyle, Kerry broke the news to her they were in the clear.

Amy said it didn’t make a difference, she still wasn’t going to go for custody of Kyle, believing it was what was best for him.

Despite Kerry’s insistence they were off the hook, Amy stood firm and said she didn’t deserve to have him after what she’d done.
