Emmerdale fans have been left confused after Kim Tate acted as if she didn’t know Lisa Dingle.

The village villain had a furious row with Lisa in The Woolpack earlier this week but it appeared to be there first meeting with Kim telling her: “I don’t even know you.”

The pair actually overlapped in the village for three years during Kim’s original stint in the village.

And more than that when Kim married Steve Marchant, Lisa was not only on the guest list but memorably livened up the wedding when she punched husband Zak during the reception.

One fan, writing on DS Forums, said: “From what I remember Lisa arrived in Emmerdale a few years before Kim left and yet last night she told Lisa that she doesn’t know her and tonight Lisa didn’t know that her and Seth were friends.”

A second agreed, writing: “Kim knows Lisa as they were both in the same show together when Lisa first arrived.”

A third blamed the blunder on “21-year-old scriptwriters not doing any research”.

Another said: “They were in it together but it’s credible they may not have met I guess however my memory tells me they must have met at some point as the poachers wife Lisa would have been well known by the big house owners.

“The rest of the family at the time definitely knew the Dingles.

But others defended the apparent mistake, insisting it was perfectly plausible that Kim and Lisa would not know each other.

One said: “It could just be interpreted as her not knowing Lisa well, as they haven’t met in 20 odd years and were not close before that.”

A second said: “I don’t have a problem with Lisa and Kim not being familiar.

“They haven’t met in twenty years, Lisa wasn’t in the village so very long before Kim left and they weren’t friends.

“Kim could easily have just been ‘her from the big house’ and Lisa just ‘Zak Dingle’s new wife’.”

Another added: “I think the writers missed a trick in that argument scene between Kim and Lisa in The Woolpack, not referencing the past somehow.

“A line like ‘You were a nasty [expletive] 20 years ago Kim Tate, and you’re an even nastier [expletive] now!'”
