A shock new Emmerdale theory has claimed Joe Tate is alive and in hiding.
Fans of the soap were devastated when the hunky businessman was killed by Graham Foster last year.
However a body has never been found and his finger twitched when Graham moved him, so it’s all been very fishy.
But now fans think they have worked out what really happened off-screen.
One fan said: “I’m starting to think he is alive. Here’s what I think happened. We know that he was alive with the finger movement.

“Graham though thought he was dead and buries him. Joe comes round and digs himself out although it probably wasn’t that deep a hole.
“One thing Joe will have done was hide some money because he knew it was only a matter of time before Kim turned on him so he puts it in either a suitcase or rucksack and buries it somewhere only he knows.
“He then leaves to plan his next move.
“At some point Debbie will start getting calls from someone but they keep hanging up which will be Joe.
“Eventually he’ll talk and let her know he’s alright and will ask her to meet him. This could be Charley’s exit to go on maternity leave.”
Actress Charley Webb announced her pregnancy last week, meaning she could be leaving to go on maternity later this year.

The theory on DS Forums intrigued another viewer who posted their own thoughts.
They said they had thought similar but with a twist – Joe will turn up with Kim Tate’s missing son James Tate.
The pair will then do battle with Kim and Graham until it reaches a dramatic climax when someone either dies or goes to prison.
