Emmerdale confirm Ellis Chapman has left the soap after actor Asan N'jie was sacked

He became abusive at the recent TV Choice Awards

Ellis Chapman has finally left Emmerdale, a month after the actor who played him was sacked in scenes as shocking as those on screen.

In September, Asan N'jie had his contract swiftly terminated after he was filmed threatening Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas at the TV Choice Awards.

Fans of the ITV soap were then left wondering how the relatively new character would be written out, with some even begging for the character to be recast.

But his fate was revealed during last night's visit to the Dales.

On Thursday (October 17), Emmerdale aired Ellis's final scenes in its double bill, which also saw Robert Sugden hand himself in to the police.

Brother Billy revealed that Ellis had left the village to join mum Jessie in Dubai - as some fans had suspected weeks ago.

Viewers will know that Ellis and Billy's relationship has been troubled of late, as the brothers continued to argue over Billy's loyalty to his dad, Al.

Award for lamest storyline to write out a sacked actor goes to... Emmerdale.

But the storyline came to an abrupt end when Billy told Kim and Al that his brother had left the village to take on a new job with mum Jessie, who recently left the village to start a new life in Dubai.

Billy was seen telling them: "If you're heading back to the site, there's something you might want to know. You're a man down.

"It's nothing bad, well, not for Ellis anyway. Don't freak out, but he's got another job. Honestly, Mum's snowed under at her new job, needed help in the PE department. No offence, but it's a no brainer really."

He then offered his own services as a replacement, without revealing that he was in fact the one to organise the job for Ellis in a bid to get him away from his dad's toxic influence.

Billy later told Dawn: "At least he's getting away from him. He'll need 1000 miles to get away from that parasite. I want this, so I can be sure that Al is staying away from Ellis for good. He's toxic."

After Wednesday's episode, viewers worried that Ellis might contract sepsis after injuring his arm on a nail.

But now we know he is alive and well and heading to Dubai.

And fans know the actor will NOT be returning.

Writing on Twitter, one said: "A conversation between Al and Billy and Ellis has gone. Such a shame for all involved #Emmerdale."

Another said: "I'll miss him to be honest. We all say stuff we don't mean when we have been drinking and we get provoked. Not that it's okay what he said, but we really don't know what was said to him. I wish him well."

A third added: "Had a feeling that's how they'd write out Ellis. Glad Billy will get potentially more screen time to feud with big Al. #Emmerdale."

"Award for lamest storyline to write out a sacked actor goes to..... #Emmerdale. Ellis suddenly off to Dubai?!!"

Actor Asan recently broke his silence on the matter, thanking fans for their support.

He tweeted: "All the people who've reached out and had my back, you'll never know how much I appreciate you.

"I've learned, I've grown and now I'm working harder than ever to finish what I started. Keep your circle tight and always fall forward! The universe tends to unfold as it should."
