Emmerdale Christmas special: Dingle wedding surprise and family drama

Viewers will be very shocked when they see who's walking down the aisle

| Updated:

Emmerdale is lining up a traditional Dingle wedding for Christmas Day this year – with all its hallmarks of peace, joy and abject misery.

Viewers will be surprised at who is tying the knot, as one of the couple remains in the dark about their own surprise wedding by a bit of festive fib-telling and a lot of secret planning.

With most of the Dingle clan amassing for the surprise wedding, it could go one of two ways.

Either there will be festive joy and happiness, or secrets will be exposed and everyone will end up miserable and cold.

What’s On TV has revealed the wedding is set to be between Jessie Grant and Marlon Dingle – but not whether it will go ahead.

However there might be a little bit more drama over at the Metcalfe family home.

Grooming teacher Maya will face a very awkward Christmas dinner with her boyfriend David and her underage victim, his son Jacob.

But will her grooming tactics be exposed over the pudding, or will she live to abuse the teenager for another day?

Meanwhile Bob Hope is in a miserable situation as the debt-laden former barman is cast out by everyone he knows.

But while the misery is labelled onto Bob’s head, there’s a whole host of other drama taking place elsewhere in the village.

There’s also a sisterly squabble of epic proportions as Nicola King and Bernice Blackstock wage war on each other.

A huge clash sees someone making a major decision which has serious consequences for both of the sisters.

With Debbie Dingle still facing her trial for the acid attack on Ross, and not to mention her struggling with Joe Tate’s disappearance, it’s not going to be a happy time for any of the family.

Certainly not Cain who is consumed with his guilt over killing Joe and keeping it a secret from his daughter.

But in lighter news the New Year will see Mandy Dingle return to the village for the first time in almost two decades with a huge surprise for one person in particular.
