There’s huge drama heading to Emmerdale’s Jacob Gallagher and David Metcalfe this Christmas when they find a baby abandoned on their doorstep… but David’s soon coming up with a plan to deal with the unexpected arrival.
Emmerdale fans have seen Jacob struggling to move on since being groomed by paedophile Maya Stepney.
But after a recent wake up call from David and Leyla Harding, Jacob has started to get his life back on track, leaving his family overwhelmed with relief.

But after spending six months in jail for sexually abusing teenage Jacob, Maya has recently been released from prison and in a shock twist it was revealed she was also heavily pregnant.
So when David, Jacob and Leyla’s perfect Christmas Day is shattered after they find a newborn baby on their doorstep, it seems everyone’s lives are about to be thrown into turmoil once again.
David and Jacob are shocked to find there is a note with the baby – apparently from Maya. But David isn’t convinced that all is as it seems, and is initially sure that someone is playing games with them.
However as time goes on, the family find themselves looking after the baby. And with no one coming forward to claim the prank, it is looking increasingly likely that the baby does belong to Maya after all.
As David and Jacob both realise either of them could quite easily be the baby’s father, there is turmoil amongst the family once again.
However, David soon comes up with the idea to keep the news of their new arrival a secret until they know more, worried that Maya could be back in the village and causing trouble once again.
But is Maya coming back? Or is this her way of turning David and Jacob’s life upside down once again, only to watch the fall out from afar?
One thing is for sure, with a baby in the equation, it means that the pair are never going to be rid of Maya, with the thereat of her returning always hanging over them.
Can they really spend the rest of their lives looking over their shoulders?
And why is David being so secretive? It seems unlikely that the pair will manage to keep the fact they have got a baby living with them a secret for long…
