Emmerdale SPOILER: A mysterious arrival causes more trouble for Victoria

The newcomer will set the cat amongst the pigeons

It’s been a tough time for Victoria Barton in Emmerdale and it doesn’t look set to get any easier when a mysterious stranger causes her even more problems.

After Victoria was sexually assaulted after a night out by Lee, a man she met in a club, she has since discovered she is pregnant with his baby.

She has also been told the police aren’t going to pursue charges against her attacker.

After going away with brother Robert Sugden to clear her head, Victoria returned last week and revealed she is keeping her baby – much to Robert’s anger.

But her disagreement with Robert is the last thing on her mind this summer when the newcomer turns up.

Speaking to Whats On TV, Isabel Hodgins, who play Victoria, revealed: “There’s no let up for Victoria this summer.

“Things are about to get a lot more difficult for her. The newcomer is set to put the cat amongst the pigeons, that’s for sure!”

It’s hard to believe it could get much more difficult for the character after the ordeal she’s been through.

Isabel recently revealed there’s no chance of Victoria getting justice through the usual means.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, she reflected on how low the rape conviction rate is in court and said: “For someone who’s been through what she’s been through, I would love justice to be served, in this instance I don’t think it is.”

Admitting she just wants her alter ego to be happy, Isabel added: “Victoria just wants to get on with her life.

“She just should be left to get on with her life and live in peace.

“She’s wanted a baby for so long, she should be left alone to be the best mum she can be.

“But that’s simple, soap’s not simple…”

And it won’t get any simpler for Victoria this week as Robert and his husband Aaron Dingle are set to confront her attacker.

On Friday June 14, the pair head off to the car dealership where Lee works and plan to confront him about the rape.

When Lee approaches them and offers to take them on a test drive, what will they do?

They step things up a gear next week when Robert and Aaron decide to out Lee as a rapist, Robert, along with husband Aaron by his side, makes posters with Lee’s face on them and the word ‘rapist’ along the bottom for everyone to see.

The pair return to the village after a successful morning sticking the posters up around town, and are feeling pleased with their handiwork.

But when Victoria finds the posters, she is livid that Robert would do something like that and the siblings fall out big time.

Demanding that the pair remove the posters they have just put up, Victoria sends Robert and Aaron on their way.

But as they are taking the posters down, they see a fuming Lee across the road taking one of the posters down from outside the garage where he works.

It doesn’t take long for the police to arrive in Emmerdale, looking for Victoria, and it soon turns out that Lee has made a formal complaint against her, thinking that she is to blame for the posters.

This is the last straw for Victoria and she tells Robert that she doesn’t want anything more to do with him, leaving him upset.

But Aaron is determined to get the siblings talking again and tries to get Victoria to see the situation from Robert’s point of view… but will it work?

Later the pair both visit Jack’s grave and they finally talk, with Robert reminding an emotional Victoria that he is there for her no matter what.

But is the mum-to-be ready to forgive and forget so soon? Or will she push her brother away just when she needs him the most?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
