Debbie Dingle’s heartache as Emmerdale’s Joe Tate case takes a turn

The truth is finally out...

There is heartache on the horizon for Debbie Dingle as the police ask her to identify a body that they believe could be missing Joe Tate. But have they got the right person?

Emmerdale fans will know that the last time we saw Joe Tate, his body was seemingly being dumped at Hotten viaduct by Graham Foster after Kim Tate ordered his death.

But while Graham has let Cain Dingle believe that he is the one who killed Joe, viewers know that it’s actually Graham with blood on his hands after we saw Joe’s fingers twitch as he bundled the body into the boot of his car.

Next week is set to bring fresh agony for Joe’s fiancee Debbie when she gets a phone call she has been dreading since October last year when Joe went missing.

The police call to tell her they have found a body matching Joe’s description after she formally reported him missing a few weeks ago.

But the thought of seeing the love of her life dead is too much for Debbie, and she’s relieved when Cain steps in and offers to ID the body for her.

Little does she know Cain is feeling guilty, thinking he is the one who put Joe in the mortuary.

Thankfully for Debbie the body isn’t Joe’s, but seeing how devastated his daughter is about not knowing what happened to her fiancé, Cain decides to come clean and confesses everything about what happened that fateful afternoon.

Debbie is understandably horrified at the revelation her dad killed Joe and rushes out, leaving their relationship in tatters.

But when she goes to see Graham to tell him what Cain is claiming, Mr Foster is forced to lie and pretend Joe’s death is news to him.

However, Graham’s pretence doesn’t last for long, because when Cain tries to tell Debbie exactly what happened when Joe died, he also reveals that Graham was part of the grisly deed, leaving Debbie sickened.

But to make matters worse, Debbie later finds out that Moira also knew, and all three of them have been lying about Joe’s whereabouts since last year.
