The vet said: “What a shame. Looks like you’ll be taking the wrap for this one. But you know, if you’re lucky they’ll realise you’re a nutter. Put you in a nice secure unit. Somewhere for you to rot with only the voices in your head to keep you company.”

Emmerdale fans were left disgusted by Jamie’s cruel words calling him “spiteful” and a “low-life.”

Emmerdale: Belle’s mental health

Back in 2014, Belle and her best friend got into an altercation which led to Belle pushing Gemma over. Gemma hit her head on a rock and although she initially seemed fine, she later lost brain stem function and had her life support switched off.

Belle went to young offenders and began to hear voices. When she was released she began hearing Gemma’s voice, who told her self harm and vandalise Edna Birch’s property.

Belle soon tried to kill herself but was stopped by Cain. Later she was diagnosed with schizophrenia and has been having treatment, which includes mediation, ever since.

Emmerdale: What’s next for Belle?

Next week, Belle swaps two vials of veterinary drugs that Jamie keeps in his car. But when Jamie and Paddy find out she quits her job on the spot.
