After Leyla Harding confessed to murdering Maya Stepney in last night’s Emmerdale (Monday May 6) fans are convinced it’s not the end of the story.
Jacob returned from Portugal unexpectedly and Leyla was overcome with emotion.

“I thought you were still in Portugal,” she said. So did we, so why is he back?
Leyla tearfully confessed she knew what Leyla had been doing to him and she promised it wouldn’t happen any more: “She’s not going to hurt you any more,” she cried.
But Jacob was insistent his mum didn’t know anything and she couldn’t stop them seeing each other.
“Jacob that woman is a monster,” Leyla protested trying to make him see he’d been groomed.
“Grooming? That’s what dirty old men do to little girls – I know what I’m doing.”
As Leyla tried to convince her son he was a victim, Jacob insisted she couldn’t stop him seeing Maya.
“I can and I already have. She’s dead. I killed her,” Leyla confessed.

Viewers were quick to jump on Leyla’s revelation being a red herring and insisted justice needs to be served in the right way.
Voicing their theories on Twitter, one said it was “Fake news”, and another added, “She’ll come back pregnant.”

As the dust settles, Leyla is set to tell the full story in tonight’s outing (Tuesday May 7), but what is the whole truth? And how will Jacob react?
