It has been revealed that Keegan Baker’s dad, Mitch, is to make a shock return to EastEnders.
Actor Roger Griffiths, who plays troublemaker Mitch Baker, has revealed all about re-joining the EastEnders cast, saying: “It feels great to be returning to Albert Square.”
Walford fans will remember that the last time we saw Mitch on screen was back in March this year.
After getting back into the good books with Karen and her kids, he then showed his true colours by stealing money that Patrick Truman had given Ted and Joyce Murray.
Mitch had to work hard to win back the affections of Karen after first arriving, but within a few weeks they had reignited their romance and Mitch had also built bridges with his son, Keegan.
But it wasn’t just stealing money that saw him eventually flee Walford. Mitch returned shortly after taking the cash, but it wasn’t long after his comeback that Karen discovered he was secretly married.
His cover was blown when Mitch’s wife Marla confronted Karen, revealing she was six months pregnant with his baby.
But what brings Mitch back to Walford this time, and what kind of trouble will he bring with him?
Actor Roger has revealed: “It feels great to be be returning to Albert Square and working with the wonderful cast and crew again, especially the fantastic Taylor family.
“I’m excited for the viewers to learn more about Mitch and see what trouble he gets himself into this time.”
It has also been revealed that Roger is already filming his comeback scenes and we can expect to see him on screen later this year.
Could his return lead to a huge Christmas storyline for the Taylor family?
EastEnders airs Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
