Mel’s back and worried about Hunter, Jay and Ruby makes steps towards dating, and Sharon’s return spooks Keanu in next week’s EastEnders.
Monday January 28
Stacey pushes Jay to ask Ruby out, but when she accepts, Billy expresses his concerns over the idea.
Jay decides to suggest he and Ruby go out as just friends instead, knocking Ruby’s confidence.
Ruby goes on the date anyway and is shocked when Billy and Shirley gatecrash.
Mick prepares for his coaching assessment and things are looking up as he gets flirty with Linda.
But then he drunkenly messes around with Mitch and puts his back out.
Keanu’s annoyed when Louise posts a picture of them on social media. After upsetting her, Keanu throws her a surprise party to celebrate her passing her theory test and to say sorry.
He invites Hunter to gathering party, but when Hunter antagonises him, Keanu punches him.
Tuesday January 29
Jay walks Ruby home after their date. But he’s startled when Ruby calls after him that her flat has been broken into.
Mel is worried about Hunter and tries to get him to open up. Fed up of her, Hunter humours her before sneaking off to the E20, where Jack finds him chatting up girls.
Jack takes him home and Mel confronts him about his behaviour.
As Hunter turns on the tears, Mel comforts him, but they’re interrupted when Nicola and Maddie turn up. They demand to see Ray.
Thursday January 31
Nicola and Maddie refuse to leave until they get answers about Ray’s whereabouts. Mel keeps her cool and manages to convince them she doesn’t know where Ray is.
The next morning Hunter notices them watching him.
Concerned about Hunter’s behaviour, Jack talks to Mel.
Mel watches CCTV footage of Hunter at the club and is worried. She turns to Phil for advice.
Sharon’s on Keanu’s mind after her return. He struggles to keep up appearances with Louise.
Keanu talks to Sharon about where they stand. She makes it clear things are over between them so he makes a touching gesture.
Friday February 1
Honey gives Ruby a recipe for her date with Jay, but nervous, Ruby asks for Stacey’s help.
Jay is touched by the effort Ruby’s gone to.
