EastEnders fans actually WANT a romance between Mick Carter and Whitney Dean

'Mickney' isn't over yet

EastEnders fans don’t think the affair between Mick Carter and Whitney Dean is totally over after the pub landlord gave Whit her job at the pub back last night.

Whitney, who used to be married to Mick’s son Lee, was fired by Shirley Carter a few weeks ago.

But, with the freehold back in their hands, one of the first things Mick did was offer Whitney her job back.

He said: “What we are trying to say is that we’ve missed you and we would love to have you back on the payroll.”

Shirley, Mick’s mum, watched on with a sour face as she blames the young barmaid for almost ruining his marriage to Linda.

Mick and Whitney shared a couple of kisses last year while Linda was in Watford, looking after her mum and secretly battling cancer.

Meanwhile, Mick was driven to the brink due to money problems and then facing jail after being caught serving alcohol out of licensing hours.

Whitney became his confidant and it wasn’t long before feelings grew between the pair.

When Linda returned, he confessed saying he thought he was in love with his former daughter-in-law.

The couple managed to work things out, but when Mick reacted badly to Halfway asking Whitney out last week, fans predicted the romance isn’t as over as the believed.

“Mick missed Whitney so much he gave her her job back as soon as he had the freehold back #EastEnders #Mickney,” said one viewer, while another added: “Mick can’t stay away from Whitney. I love it bring on #Mickney.”

Fans were actually loving the idea of a romance between the two with another adding: “Aw…Mick missed Whitney. Just get them together already,” and another agreed saying: “@bbceastenders Mick and Whitney back behind the bar together where they belong #couplegoals”

The fans’ sentiments are a bit of a U-turn after there was outrage last year following reports that the pair were to begin an affair behind Linda’s back.

They complained that all the marriages on the Square end in cheating and divorce and that Mick would never cheat on his childhood sweetheart, Linda, with who he has four kids.

But the #Mickney fandom is growing on social media, predicting a romance is still on the cards.

Have they got it right?
