Former EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison has told ITV bosses that she wants a part in Coronation Street.

Cheryl, who is famed for playing hapless Heather Trott in EastEnders, has her heart set on swapping Walford for Weatherfield.

The actress, 53, has just finished a stint in a summer panto and has told Corrie producers to get in touch now she has some time on her hands.

Cheryl wrote on Instagram: “I’ve been blessed working and touring .. and now having a little break ..

“I will be bored in a couple of weeks I’m sure so hurry up and let’s be having that amazing phone call… lol.

“I like to wear a flat shoe so the cobbled street will be fine if that’s who fancies calling the agent.”

Cheryl, a mum-of-one, then went on to reveal that she isn’t too picky, as she wouldn’t say no to a role in ITV’s Emmerdale either!

Sending her musings directly to ITV, she added: “Having said that I’m great in a pair of wellies mucking out horses in the Yorkshire Dales too! @itv.”

Cheryl first appeared in EastEnders as Heather Trott in June 2007.

Heather was known for being Shirley Carter’s sidekick and was affectionally called ‘Hev’ by her pal.

Two years after arriving in Albert Square, Cheryl’s character became the centre of a huge storyline after falling pregnant.

Mystery surrounded exactly who the baby’s father was. The tot, called George, was later revealed to be the son of teenager Darren Miller.

Unfortunately for Cheryl, a return to EastEnders would prove tricky as Heather was killed off in 2012.

Ben Mitchell hit Heather over the head with a picture frame during an argument, causing her to fall backwards and hit her head.

Ben’s dad Phil, played by Steve McFadden, and pal Jay Mitchell – Jamie Borthwick – helped cover up his crime.
