EastEnders SPOILERS: Martin’s return storyline revealed

He'll clash with Ben Mitchell when he comes back

Martin Fowler will be returning to EastEnders next week and immediately walks into trouble with Ben Mitchell.

Viewers know Martin fled Walford earlier this year when wife Stacey clobbered Phil Mitchell over the back of the head – leaving him for dead in The Arches.

After threats by Ben Mitchell – who wanted to keep Stacey’s involvement quiet in order to frame Keanu – Martin and Stacey and their kids ran.

But Ben hasn’t forgotten and when Martin returns tensions rise between the men.

Martin loses his temper at Ben as Mr Mitchell makes more and more demands of him.

Ben isn’t too rattled by Martin’s big man act as he knows what he has over Martin’s wife, Stacey.

On Tuesday October 8 however, Ben receives an interesting phone call – and he’s forced to turn to Martin for help…

Will Martin agree to help Ben? And what will he ask for in return?

No one does something for nothing in Albert Square – will Martin finally turn the tables and get the upper hand?

Martin will also have the deal with his daughter Bex, who has been falling apart since his departure.

In disturbing scenes over the past few weeks, the teenager has appeared glum and morose, even telling uncle Robbie that she felt “numb”.

Last week, the BBC soap confirmed the troubled teen would attempt to take her own life in the coming weeks.

So it’s timely that Martin is seen back on the Square.

The BBC show has worked closely with Samaritans to deliver the upcoming story.

Jon Sen, Executive Producer at EastEnders, explained: “We wanted to take Bex on a journey which accurately reflected the crises facing many young people today – many of whom, like Bex, struggle under the mounting pressures placed on teenagers today.

“Having worked closely with Samaritans, our wish is that by telling this story we can encourage others in Bex’s position to realise there’s always help and there’s always hope.

“And we hope that others will be encouraged to start a conversation if they are worried about someone they know.”

If you are struggling or are concerned about someone who might be, contact Samaritans FREE any time from any phone on 116 123, even a mobile without credit.

Or you can email [email protected] or visit samaritans.org to find details of your nearest branch, where you can talk to one of their trained volunteers face to face.
