Scott Maslen might be in hot water with his EastEnders bosses, after letting slip a secret storyline due to air later this year.

And fans of his character Jack Branning should look away now – as it appears he could be set to get a bloody beating at the hands of an as yet unidentified enemy.

Viewers were up in arms recently when Mel’s son Hunter threatened to kill the former cop, so this new storyline is bound to cause more upset.

Scott shared a video on his official Twitter page earlier this week, which revealed his face to be bloodied and bruised.

Of course, the injuries were just make-up, but the 48-year-old dad-of-one joked that he’d sustained the cuts after being 10 minutes late for work!

Fans quickly speculated that Jack had, in fact, spent hours in make-up for a brutal storyline, in which the character clearly comes off worse for wear.

As his followers began to comment on the video, Scott hastily removed the tweet – perhaps concerned he’d given too much away?

Or had he had his knuckles rapped by management for the unapproved spoiler?

EastEnders viewers know that Jack isn’t short of enemies, and is often getting into fights.

We also know that he plans to return to the police force in the coming months.

Does he get the brutal beating in the line of duty?

Jack recently got stabbed when he confronted Tiffany’s rapist, but luckily avoided jail time.

Has he got any of his nine lives left?

Viewers can rest assured that the actor has not announced any intentions to exit the soap, although it wouldn’t be the first time scriptwriters had thrown a curveball at us!

A spokesperson for EastEnders declined to comment.
