EastEnders: Rainie Branning’s fate uncertain after violent altercation

And could Stuart be to blame?

| Updated:

Rainie Branning hasn’t been making many friends on the Square lately, but new pictures suggest EastEnders might be about to kill her off.

The on-location shots show Rainie left for dead after a violent altercation – and it’s all down to Stuart Highway.

According to a report on Metro.co.uk the former enemies will team up in a scam to raise some cash.

Rainie will go back on the streets posing as a prostitute in back alleys and make sure punters pay up front for her services.

The plan then sees Stuart intervene and threaten the guys off, leaving Rainie and him with the cash.

Foolproof, right?

It seems not, because in the new pictures Rainie is getting a beating from a disgruntled customer, who realises something isn’t right.

The images show that by the time Stuart manages to intervene it could be too late.

A source told Metro.co.uk: “After Rainie is left in this situation, it could be the end of the line.

“The scenes are harrowing and will leave viewers in shock and Tanya [Franks] and Ricky [Champ] really threw themselves into the filming so it looks authentic.”

Could this really spell the end of Rainie?

The insider added: “It would certainly impact Stuart if she were to die as part of of this and send him spiralling into his darkest place yet.”

Rainie is struggling with her marriage to Max Branning at the moment.

He made a shock return to Walford earlier this month after being away and leaving Rainie to run the car lot alone, and announced he wanted them to give their marriage a go for real.

Rainie, who’d been under threat from Ben Mitchell, was fuming at his brass neck.

Max however then dropped another bombshell – they didn’t legally own the car lot.

So Rainie has found herself jobless. And with Max’s wandering eye falling on Mel Owen, is Rainie about to be left with nothing?

Is that why she turns to arch enemy Stuart? These two could be a partnership made in hell – if Rainie survives.

EastEnders is on Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
