The soap bad boy is heading to a remote island for our amusement

Martin Kemp may have kept a low profile of late, but that’s all about to change.

The actor, 56, has thrown caution to the wind and agreed to take part in Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls 2018.

We. Can’t. Wait.

Does he know what he’s letting himself in for, though?

The former soap star, who was a big deal in the 80s with his band Spandau Ballet, will be joining 10 other brave celebrities who will be left to fend for themselves on a remote island.

While Martin’s recently appeared in the odd TV series including Murder In Successville and Father Brown, he’s also no stranger to reality TV – he appeared on Celebrity Big Brother 2012 and this year’s Great Celebrity Bake Off.

He’ll join Love Island’s Montana Brown, TOWIE’s Pete Wicks and even Hollywood bad boy Eric Roberts – star of The Dark Knight and brother to Julia.

Also entering the wilderness will be Olympian rower James Cracknell and boxer Anthony Ogogo, as well as Ronnie Wood’s ex-wife Jo Wood, former Hollyoaks star Roxanne Pallett, journalist Paris Lees and TV doctor Dr Saleyha Ahsan.

For four weeks, the famous faces will tear themselves away from their luxuries and loved ones and attempt to survive on a desert island with nothing but the clothes on their back, basic tools, medical supplies and enough water to last for 24 hours.

Who’ll last the four weeks? Only time will tell!

Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls will air on Channel 4 this autumn.
