EastEnders fans excited as 'original' Ben makes 'an appearance'

Charlie was the third actor to play Ben

Fans of  EastEnders were excited after the 'original' Ben Mitchell actor made a sort-of appearance last night.

In Tuesday's episode (August 20 2019), Phil was looking at an old photograph of his son Ben.

However, the picture was not of the current actor Max Bowden in his younger years...

It's no secret that the character of Ben has had numerous recasts and Max is the sixth actor to play him.

OG Ben appearance! If only in a photo.

This isn't the first time the soap has done this.

Last year, the original Lauren Branning actress, Madeline Duggan, made an appearance in a photograph eight years after she left the soap and Jacqueline Jossa took over the role.

Although viewers were calling Charlie the original Ben, he was actually the third actor to play him.
