EastEnders viewers in tears as Bailey picks a star for mum Dinah

Dinah passed away back in May

Soap fans were left in tears after a moving scene in EastEnders, which showed Bailey picking out a star to remember her late mum Dinah.

Dinah, who had been suffering with Multiple Sclerosis, sadly took her own life back in May.

Her death had a huge impact on the Taylor/Baker family, especially young Bailey.

In Thursday night's episode (August 22 2019), Bailey was upset as it was the day of the inquest into Dinah's death.

When Karen and Mitch returned from court they explained there were no suspicious circumstances and no one else was involved.

They told Bailey her mum would want her to be happy, but when Mitch said she could move on, Bailey stormed out saying: "You can't make me forget my mum."

Mitch decided he wanted to do something special for his daughter to cheer her up and asked Chantelle if he could borrow £80 to buy something Bailey really wanted.

Karen, Mitch and Chantelle soon took Bailey to The Vic saying they wanted to show her the water butt.

EastEnders just had me in tears.

As they took her up to the roof, they revealed a telescope which they had bought for her.

As she looked out at the stars Karen said: "Some people think that when a person dies, they turn into a star."

Bailey chuckled saying it was impossible.

Chantelle reassured her sister that no one expected her to forget about her mum and suggested she should pick out a star to remember her.

Mitch suggested a big bright star, but Bailey pointed out that it was Polaris.

The young girl pointed at another star that wasn't in her book and the scene left viewers in tears.

Despite the heartwarming scenes, fans now fear Chantelle could be in for another horrific attack from her abusive husband Gray.

He left her that money for housekeeping while he was away and it's likely he'll get angry about Chantelle using it for something else.

EastEnders is on Mondays and Fridays at 8pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm.
