Jacqueline Jossa has teased her EastEnders return.
The actress played Lauren Branning until earlier this year when she was axed from the soap.
Lauren was last seen wandering in a cemetery after deciding to leave Walford and a life with boyfriend Josh behind after her sister Abi’s funeral.
Since then it has been confirmed Lauren had returned to New Zealand to reunite with Peter Beale.
But now Jacqueline has hinted she will be back in Albert Square in the new year.
Seeming to confirm her comeback to Fabulous, she said: “Yeah. I don’t know when, but I loved it there. It was the dream job for me.
“It’s a new year, a fresh start, and I’m excited about what can happen.”
She added of her break from acting to have her second child: “There’s no such thing as maternity leave when you’re an actress.
“I still have loans, I still have a mortgage, I still have kids to feed. I’m kind of just enjoying this time, but there’s nothing I love more than acting.”
New EastEnders boss Kate Oates recently confirmed she had approached three former stars of the show to return.
She said earlier this year: “We’re going to be bringing some people back. So that’s exciting.”
Kate added to the Daily Star: “I haven’t made the calls yet but there will definitely be two, possibly three old faces returning.
“You’ll probably see them in the first quarter of the new year.”
