EastEnders news: Adam Woodyatt earns £2.5m while ex-wife ‘relied on food donations’

The actor earned the huge sum despite leaving the soap

EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt made news headlines today (February 19) after the amount he’s earned since quitting the soap came to light.

Adam has earned around £2.5 million in the past two years – despite quitting EastEnders.

The Ian Beale actor bowed out of the BBC soap 13 months ago.

But it hasn’t dented his bank balance, according to a new report.

EastEnders news: Adam Woodyatt’s coffers boosted

Since quitting the soap Adam has toured in a stage play, appeared on I’m a Celebrity and is selling £40-a-time video messages to fans on the Memmo platform.

And, according to The Sun,he has made a huge £2.5m in the last two years alone.

According to the newspaper, Adam’s company, XL Management Ltd, paid a total of £496,188 in Corporation Tax last year – based on a fifth of its taxable income of around £2.5m.

Adam and ex-wife Beverley are both directors of the company but the actor is the majority shareholder.

The newspaper reports that Adam and Beverley owe the firm around £600,000 in loans.

Estranged wife Beverley ‘reliant on food handouts’

Having married in 1998, Adam an dBeverley spent years together before splitting in August 2019.

The Sun claims that Beverley has been reliant on food handouts following the split.

A source told the publication: “She has really struggled financially and relied on food donations on occasion recently from family and friends.”

However, it is understood Adam makes interim payments to his estranged wife ahead of the divorce settlement being finalised.

Will Adam return to EastEnders?

It has been claimed that EastEnders bosses are prepared to offer Adam a bumper pay rise to return to the soap.

But Adam has insisted it must be right for him to return before he makes any final decisions.

He said previously: “I left because of the way the storyline was going, because Ian needed to go.

“Not me going, ‘I wanna leave’, or them saying, ‘You’re going’. That was the storyline.

“They’ve got to come up with a storyline; they’ve got to ask me to go back. The timing has got to be right for me to go back, because I don’t know what else I’m going to be doing.”

A spokesman for Adam has been approached for comment.
