He insulted Kat and mocked her over her abusive childhood forcing Stacey and Hayley to step in to defend her.

And when Hayley told him not to go near their daughter, Alfie aggressively stepped up to her.

Scared of what he would do, Hayley pushed him away violently and he went flying down the stairs backwards.

The Slater family’s Christmas was ruined after Stacey discovered Alfie was Cherry’s father and told him he had to tell Kat.

When he refused she made it clear he or Hayley had to leave the house for good.

But when Hayley opted to leave she couldn’t go without leaving a bit of their daughter with Alfie.

Cutting a lock of Cherry’s hair off, she wrapped it up and left it for Alfie but blundered when she let Kat see it.

Kat insisted Alfie open it but when he acted cagey she began to realise he was hiding something with Hayley and the truth tumbled out.

But no-one knew Alfie would pay with his life.
