The Kirk Sutherland actor has reportedly signed up for the next series of the jungle show.
His colleague Jennie, who appeared in 2017, has said he has no idea what he is in for.
She told the Daily Star Sunday: "It is harder than it looks. Viewers don't see some of the toughest stuff that you have to go through.
"It's the boredom that I struggled with. You've got a lot of time to think. You have to entertain yourself.
"It's also physically gruelling. There's lots of walking about to trials and things like that.
"And you're doing it on an empty stomach. You have really low energy too, and it's in the heat.
"You miss your loved ones - missing my family was the worst part.
"It really is as hard as it looks on the TV, if not harder. I don't know why I did it when I had holiday time from Corrie I was a stupid girl!"
Andy was reported to have signed on the dotted line last week delighting fans.
A source told The Sun: "Producers are really pleased with the line-up so far, with just a couple of faces to unveil.
"There's a chance they'll add a couple more but in previous years they've stuck at ten with one or two to follow.
"They were chuffed to get Andrew as viewers have watched him on Coronation Street for the best part of two decades, yet know nothing about him away from Kirk."
One fan reacted on Facebook: "Brilliant, love him. He will be a great addition."
Another said: "Winner all day long!!"
And a third added: "Backing him all the way."
