She went on holiday with a friend but hasn’t been seen since – until this weekend however.

Evelyn’s return has been spoiled by the soap’s Twitter page with a first look at her cobbles comeback – and it looks like Tyrone has forgiven her!

Corrie fans are overjoyed that Evelyn is making her return after becoming a firm Street favourite since arriving last year.

One said: “Great to see Maureen Lipman is coming back! Love her character, great actress!”

A second said: “Good to see the fab Maureen Lipman back again, I so enjoy her role on the street, very similar to Blanche, although I don’t think anyone could be as naughty as her x”

Another said: “Pleased to see Evelyn’s back.”

Evelyn was last seen in January as she prepared to go on her holiday to Italy after Tyrone told her not to come back.

She packed her bags and left, heartbroken, and without knowing Tyrone had changed his mind after getting advice from a bereaved Roy Cropper who told him how he wished he had the chance to see his late mum again.

His daughter Ruby also begged him to bring Evelyn back, but with her gone he’s not been able to get in contact with her.

But at least now it seems he is able to and she will be back with her acid tongue ready to put the world to rights – to its face.

The scenes are set to air in March.
