Coronation Street fans convinced two actors are related

There is a resemblance

It’s been a busy few weeks for the residents of Coronation Street.

On Monday night’s episode Sally Metcalfe was found guilty of fraud, money laundering and bribery after being framed by Duncan Radcliffe, while Brian Packham continued to be bullied at work by his boss Phil Gillespie.

Both of these storylines introduced two new actors to the soap; Nicholas Gleaves who plays Duncan and Tom Turner who plays Phil.

Duncan first arrived in Weatherfield back in June. He befriended Sally after her daughter Rosie saved his daughter Olivia from prison. He told Sal about a charity he set up in memory of his wife who passed away from a stroke and that he missed the deadline for the council grant of £40,000.

Sally felt sympathy for him and fast-tracked the transfer without going through the correct checks. However it turned out his organisation had folded months ago.

The pair were arrested for fraud and he went on to tell the courts he and Sally had an affair and she coerced him into stealing the council grant.

Phil, meanwhile, first appeared more recently. He is the deputy head teacher at Bessie Street School and has made it clear he doesn’t like Brian. He has made Brian’s job very hard, getting him to work late and putting him in charge of a Christmas production.

Coronation Street fans expressed on Twitter how similar the two villains look and even suggest there could be a relation.

The two actors both play evil characters and although they are similar in appearance, the actors are not related to one another.
