Corrie actor Mikey North has revealed he suffers from a “horrendous” sleep disorder which has seen him leave his house and wake up in the street barely dressed.
The star, who plays Gary Windass on the ITV soap, told Lorraine host Rochelle Humes that sleepwalking is a complete nightmare for him – and joked his neighbours aren’t safe from his nocturnal wandering.
“I’m a really bad sleep walker. Horrendous sleep walker,” he admitted.
The 31-year-old continued: “I’ve been known to leave the house… and to try and let myself in next door in my pants.”
Adding he has previously roused from his slumber in the middle of the street armed with his duvet, Mikey joked: “So if you live on my street watch out. I’m coming for you next.”
The Scarborough-born actor, who took a two month break from the ITV soap to “de-Windass” after the culmination of the long-running Pat Phelan plot, also highlighted an unlikely future storyline he’d like for his character.
Referring to Gary’s contribution to murderer Pat’s downfall, he reflected: “That storyline was a real blessing.
“It was a privilege to be involved in getting rid of the biggest baddy the show’s ever had.”
Asked what he’d like Gary to be involved with in the future, the ten year Weatherfield veteran replied: “My dream would be an affair with Rita.
“I love Barbara [Knox] to pieces, so hopefully that may materialise.”
Whatever would Sarah Platt say?
