Jungle bosses were said to have won a bidding war against Strictly and Celebrity X Factor for Lucy who announced plans to leave the cobbles earlier this year.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Lucy is bubbly, funny, down-to-earth and game for a challenge, so she is a great fit for I’m A Celebrity.

“She had conversations last year about taking part but said, ‘Thanks, but no thanks’.

However this morning Lucy posted a picture of the article to her Instagram Stories and said: “Not doing it btw.”

Lucy quit Corrie earlier this year after deciding she wanted to try and win other roles away from the cobbles.

She said in a statement: “After the most incredible 4 years, I have made the extremely difficult decision to leave Coronation Street at the end of my contract in 2020.

“It’s hard to put into words how much this show means to me.

“I’m so thankful to Iain and everyone at Coronation Street, I owe everything to them and I will miss them greatly.”

She recently said she wouldn’t take part in any reality shows after she leaves instead wanting to focus on acting.

Lucy told the Star: “There are loads of things I’d like to do. At the moment I don’t think I want to do stuff like I’m A Celebrity. I’d rather see what happens first.”
