Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh goes to hospital after her dog scratches her eye

She's been left with a potentially permanent cyst

Kym Marsh, who pays Michelle Connor in Coronation Street revealed she had to go to hospital after her dog scratched her eye.

Speaking out the incident in her latest OK! Magazine column, Michelle explained the incident happy because her pup got a bit too playful.

She said: “As many of you know, I’ve got a little chihuahua puppy named Rico.

“He’s very playful and likes to stroke your face with his paws, but he accidentally pawed my eye.”

Kym went on to explain that although the scratch didn’t initially hurt, she’s been left with a conjunctival cyst which may never go away.

She continued: “After being sat in the waiting room for hours and hours, I was the last patient to be seen! The staff were fantastic.

“They diagnosed me with a conjunctival cyst and gave me steroid drops but warned me the cyst may never go away, which is scary.

“You take your eyes for granted so it’s really nerve-wracking when something like this happens. I’ve just got my fingers crossed that the drops will work.”

Hopefully Kym’s eye will make a full recovery as the actress has a busy Christmas ahead.

Since announcing her departure from the cobbles, it’s been revealed she will be taking part in Elf: A Christmas Spectacular.

However, Kym’s alter ego is still currently on-screen.

After finding out her fiancé Robert Preston was engaged to her and Vicky Jefferies, who is pregnant with his child, she began plotting revenge.
