Shayne Ward has revealed details of the beautiful way he proposed to girlfriend Sophie Austin.
The Coronation Street star, who plays Aidan Connor on the cobbles, popped the question to his ex-Hollyoaks star partner over Christmas.
And it turns out he had an audience!

In the new issue of OK! magazine, the pair have opened up for the first time about how Shayne got down on one knee and asked for Sophie’s hand in marriage.
She told the mag that she’d always told Shayne if he ever proposed, she’d like her entire family to witness the big moment – so that’s just what happened on Boxing Day.
And it sounds like it was a candid, beautiful and totally relaxed proposal.
Sophie said: “We were stood in our hallway – I was wearing pyjamas and my hair was tied up with a pair of knickers!”
Popping the question is, in itself, nerve-wracking enough, so you’d probably think those nerves got even greater doing it in front of people.
But Shayne told the mag he didn’t feel nervous at all when the time came to ask Sophie to marry him.
“I didn’t feel nervous as it felt so right to do it then,” he recalled.
“There were 12 of Sophie’s family there and my mum. That was the most romantic way I could think of proposing – and it saved on all those text messages afterwards!”
Ha, good point!
Shayne and Sophie, who played Lindsey Butterfield in Hollyoaks, announced their engagement on December 27.

They made the news public by simply sharing a photo of Sophie’s gorgeous diamond ring alongside the caption: “Mrs Ward To Be.”
The pair are parents to daughter Willow, who was born in December 2016.
No doubt she’ll be playing an important role in her mum and dad’s big day!
