Loose Women reunites Tracy Shaw with her Coronation Street killer Brian Capron

He famously murdered her in 2003

| Updated:

Former Coronation Street killer and victim, Brian Capron and Tracy Shaw – aka Maxine Peacock and Richard Hillman – were reunited on Loose Women today.

Tracy, who played Maxine between 1995 and 2003, joined the panel of Andrea McLean, Nadia Sawalha, Carol McGiffin and Kaye Adams to talk about her upcoming project.

The actress and mum of two is starring in a new play, Beyond Therapy.

Of course, they had to discuss Maxine’s exit from Corrie – one of the most iconic ever – when serial killer Richard battered her over the head with a crowbar.

Maxine had returned from a party to check on her son, who was being babysat by Emily Bishop.

She discovered Richard towering over Emily and although Emily survived the attack, Maxine died after Richard told her:

“You should have stayed at the party, Maxine.”

Andrea brought up a funny moment from the filming of her death scene, that Brian had apparently told them a few years ago – that his phone had flown out of his pocket and got stuck in Tracy’s bum cheeks!

Tracy laughed, but denied it ever happened – so the Loose ladies brought Brian himself out to tell the story in full!

A delighted Tracy flung her arms round Brian, wearing similar black leather gloves to his murderous character, and laughed as he told her what had happened.

“You probably don’t remember it, you had trousers on at the time,” he laughed.

“But I came off thinking everyone was going to go ‘Brian that was terrific’, but when I came off everyone was laughing.

“I said ‘what’s funny?’ and it was when I cleared the desk, those phones, normal phones, went up and had landed in between… no one told you, they removed it discreetly.”

Tracy thought the whole story was hilarious – especially as she had no idea any of it had gone on.

Earlier in the interview the actress admitted she would have loved a return to Corrie if they hadn’t killed her character off.

“I would have gone back if I hadn’t have been properly murdered, if it wasn’t just a little…”

At the beginning of this month, Tracy stunned fans with her youthful appearance when she appeared at the British Soap Awards to hand Sue Nicholls a lifetime achievement award.
