Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine shares heartwarming birthday tribute to ‘brilliant’ son Albert

She has two young children with husband Chris

Actress and Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine has warmed the hearts of her social media followers with a gushing birthday tribute to her son.

The mum-of-two, 35, took to Instagram on Friday (29.11.19) to post a photo of the chocolate caterpillar cake she bought for her son Albert’s fifth birthday.

In the caption, she heaped praise on the “brilliant” youngster, calling him “kind” and “funny” and telling fans he had changed the family’s lives.

Jennie wrote alongside the pic: “Wow. We turned away for a minute, and you were five.

“Albert, you changed our lives. I knew it would be fun, never imagined just how much.

“Happy birthday to our brilliant, kind, loving and funny boy. We love you.”

Fans of the I’m A Celebrity 2017 campmate rushed to comment on the pic, with one writing: “Aww happy birthday Albert bless him.”

“Can’t beat a caterpillar cake!” said a second follower.

Someone else commented: “Happy birthday to your little boy.”

Jennie has two children, five-year-old Albert and Hilda, one, with her husband Chris Farr.

Her youngest only turned one last month (October 29) and she posted about the special occasions on Instagram.

“You have made our lives,” Jennie captioned the pic, which showed a chocolate cake blazing with candles and adorned with a topper that read ‘Hilda is one’. “We love you our darling, one-year-old Hilda. Here’s to some amazing adventures. Happy Birthday.”

Earlier this year, Jennie opened up about having weekly meetings with her partner Chris to “coordinate” and plan child care around their hectic schedules.

Jennie, who returned to the cobbles in the summer after taking time off for maternity leave, told OK! magazine: “Being a parent is flipping hard work and the juggling is crazy. Me and Chris have a meeting every Sunday night to coordinate the coming week and we have a family timetable stuck on our fridge.”
