Sarah and Adam sneak off

Sarah lies to Bethany, telling her that she is going to the Midlands on business but heads off to a hotel to meet Adam.

Rick appears on the street looking for Gary and Sarah, suspicious Bethany takes a picture of him and shows it to Gary.

Fearing for Sarah’s safety, Gary urges Bethany to track Sarah down.

Puzzled to discover she’s at a hotel in Worsley, Gary sets off fearing it’s proof that Rick has her, meanwhile Sarah and Adam put the ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door…

Rick tries to kill Gary again?

Coronation Street Gary kills Rick

When Gary shows a bellboy a picture of Sarah, he says he saw her heading out followed by a tall bloke with dark hair. Gary’s horrified, wrongly assuming it was Rick.

Gary calls Rick and accuses him of holding Sarah against her will.

Rick seizes the opportunity and gives Gary location details and tells him to meet him there if he ever wants to see Sarah again.

Gary finds himself in the woodlands looking at a shallow grave.

He fights for his life as he’s overpowered by a much stronger, more prepared Rick.

Meanwhile, back at home Bethany is horrified when she realises Sarah and Adam are seeing each other and tells her she is making a big mistake.

Adam’s intrigued as Sarah plays down her final showdown with Gary.

Aggie vs. Claudia

With renovations still going on, Aggie and Claudia wage war through the hole in the wall.

Bent on revenge, Aggie, Michael and James switch on every power tool they have.

In retaliation Claudia and Amy are armed with violins and begin to make a dreadful racket.

When Aggie and Claudia find Ken and Ed enjoying a drink together, will they agree to bury the hatchet?

James has some fans on the street

Jack recognises James Bailey from the County youth team and asks him to sign his football, and Steve proudly reveals he knows James.

Realising that Tim, Kevin and Steve are fans, Michael makes out he is James’s manager as well as his brother.

Michael invites Tim, Kevin, Steve and Jack to a training session and promises to give them an access all areas tour.

They return from the tour on a high but when James clocks Michael taking a fee from each of them, he’s furious.

Robert pops the question

Michelle confides in Ryan how happy she is that she and Robert and back together and this time it’s for keeps.

Roberts calls a meeting of the Connors and reveals he’s planning a surprise engagement party for Michelle that evening.

The Connors gather in the Bistro. Michelle enters to find her family hiding behind the bar.

As they let out a half-hearted “surprise!”, Michelle’s bemused.

A balloon is revealed with the words ‘Happy Engagement’ and Robert gets down on one knee and proposes.

Michelle arranges to meet Billy at lunchtime to talk wedding plans.

Robert promises he’ll be there but when he’s a no-show, Michelle discovers she’s been lied to.

Is Robert hiding something?

At the Bistro Michelle angrily reveals she knows Robert has been lying about his whereabouts.

Thinking on his feet, Robert makes out he was at the travel agents planning a surprise honeymoon.

Will she buy it? And what is he really hiding?

Roy reveals the secret of Sylvia’s ring

When Wayne calls in at the cafe and reveals he’s been doing some more research into Sylvia’s ring, Roy orders him to leave it.

Brian and Wayne realise Roy has been acting strangely ever since his trip to Portsmouth.

Roy admits the secret of the ring revealed that his mother had an affair.

After some wise words from Cathy, Roy has a change of heart and tells Brian and Wayne that he would be grateful for their help in researching his family.

Wayne introduces Roy to Alice Parrott, who reveals her father, Raymond, had an affair with Sylvia.

Alice hands Roy a bundle of love letters and realises there was a loving side to his mother that he never saw.

Roy resigns himself to the fact that his mother was obviously capable of love, but didn’t love him.

As he sees Wayne out, Wayne thanks him for the kindness he and Hayley showed him as a child and promises to keep in touch.

Coronation Street is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
