Carla is unwell, Rick gets Gary to con the elderly, and Sinead finishes her treatment in next week’s Coronation Street.
The Connors mark Aidan’s birthday
After visiting Aidan’s grave on his birthday, the Connors raise a glass to him. Kate is outraged when Peter brings Carla to join them, angrily accusing her of killing Rana.
Carla gets a message from beyond the grave
Carla’s horrified when she receives a message online: “you destroy everything you touch”. Carla, Peter and Michelle are shocked to see the sender’s name is Rana.
Peter accuses Kate of sending Carla the message from Rana’s account starting a row. Both Kate and Imran deny it and wonder who sent the message.
At No.1 Ken and Peter worry as Carla knocks back wine gazing listlessly into thin air. When she receives another message from ‘Rana’ she is completely freaked out.
Carla’s emotional as she leaves another voicemail for Rana, asking her to ring her back. Peter apologises to Kate for blaming her for sending the messages and requests her help identifying the real culprit.
She agrees but only because she wants to know who’s sullying Rana’s memory. She enlists the help of Alya to find out which of Rana’s friends may have access to her account.
Carla becomes increasingly unwell
Peter and Ken worry for Carla as she scribbles the words “watching” and “murder” on a crossword and throws her tea down the sink convinced she’s being poisoned. She leaves the house barefoot as her paranoia spirals out of control.
Peter goes to look for her and finds her staring at the factory remains and realises she’s seriously ill.
He takes her to the medical centre but when Toyah takes her through to the consulting room Carla thinks it’s a trap and escapes through a window.
Imran can’t move on
Toyah’s relieved to see Imran making progress. But when he collars Wayne for news of the accident report, it’s clear Rana’s death is still very much on Imran’s mind.
Imran’s fury continues as Nick heads out to open the new factory. Imran finds a shoulder to cry on when Nick reveals that his dad was murdered.
Nick assures Imran that although grief never leaves, you learn to cope with it.
Chesney and Gemma hit the rocks (again)
After a near death experience, Chesney resolves to make a will. Gemma insists she would take on Joseph if he died, but Ches asks if Tyrone and Fiz will look after his son.
Emma hosts a Mr & Mrs contest at the Rovers. Things go downhill when Chesney names ‘irresponsible’ as Gemma’s greatest fault and they lose the quiz.
Gary’s in over his head
Gary enlists Faye to look after Harry while he does Mary’s guttering. He lies to his Sarah telling her Peter’s money went on workers’ wages so he needs the work.
Later, Rick drives Gary to an assisted living facility. He expects Gary to con some gullible old women into taking out high-interest loans.
Sarah lands Nick and David in trouble with the police
When the police show up requesting company accounts Sarah hands them over, happy to be of help.
Nick worries and alerts David to the fact that if the police spot Audrey’s money in the accounts they could be looking at a prison sentence.
Sinead finishes her treatment
Sinead is a bag of nerves ahead of her final chemo session. She fears if it hasn’t worked she isn’t strong enough to go through it all again.
Daniel looks on with pride as an emotional Sinead rings the bell signifying the end of her treatment.
When Daniel suggests they hold a naming ceremony for Bertie, she loves the idea but predicts her family will expect a traditional christening
Coronation Street is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm, with an extra episode on Thursday at 8.30pm on ITV.
