FIRST LOOK: A dramatic lead up to Christmas in Coronation Street in 10 pictures

It's a sad week for Roy...

There’s heartbreak heading to Coronation Street next week when Roy’s brother dies, while Robert faces going to prison for murder, and Gary turns nastier than ever…

Roy’s brother dies

Roy offers to look after Richard while Nina goes to collage, and he’s happy to be spending time bonding with his brother.

But Roy is devastated when he leaves Richard alone while he goes to the cafe to fix a broken freezer, only to come back and find he has collapsed.

Nina arrives as the paramedics try to revive Richard, but sadly it is too late.

Roy and Nina are devastated that Richard has died, and Roy insists that Nina should come and stay with him on Coronation Street.

But when Nina discovers Roy left Richard alone, meaning he died on his own, she vows never to never forgive him.

Nina barricades herself in her flat, but as Roy shares memories of his lonely childhood, can he encourage Nina to let him back into her life?

The net closes in on Robert

Robert is horrified when the police tell him the sat nav on his van confirms he was in the woods where he is suspected to have dumped Vicky’s body.

Vicky warns Robert that if Vicky doesn’t turn up soon he is in serious trouble.

As Robert waits in his police cell, ready to go to court, he is puzzled to learn from Paula that new information has come to light.

Gary vows revenge

Desperate to pay off his debts, Ryan agrees to work for Gary.

But as he hand delivers a mysterious white envelope, does he know what he is getting himself in to?

Gary is stunned when Izzy asks him for a loan so she can help buy the factory.

He quickly realises that Derek is trying to sell a building that actually belongs to him. But how will Gary teach Derek a lesson?

Winter Wonderland comes to the cobbles

Michael is pulling out all the stops to make the Weatherfield Winter Wonderland magical for Tianna, even roping Ed in to be Santa.

But when Grace doesn’t return his calls, Michael fears his efforts have all been for nothing.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
