Fiona Middleton’s return to Coronation Street receives mixed reactions from viewers

Fiona Middleton’s return to Coronation Street has received a mixed reactions from viewers.

In last night’s episode of Corrie (August 21 2019) Fiona returned to screens, however she didn’t return to the cobbles.

It was the day of Emma’s dad’s funeral and her brother Morgan came along to give his support.

The hairdresser still wasn’t talking to her mum after she discovered her dad John wasn’t her biological father and her mum had lied to her all her life.

She also accused Fiona of being selfish for not returning to Weatherfield to support her.

Morgan told Maria that Fiona had sent a video message to Emma, but Emma refused to watch it.

Morgan decided to play it for her anyway and Fiona asked Emma to Skype her after the funeral.

Emma decided to Skype her mum. Furious that both her and Morgan knew the truth about her dad, she said she hated them both.

Fiona revealed that it was John’s idea to let Emma think he was her dad in order to make her feel secure.

The hairdresser told her mum she was doing fine without her and revealed she lived above Audrey’s salon, which left Fiona shocked.

Emma slammed the computer shut and it seemed like she had washed her hands of her mother.

Fiona’s return had mixed reactions from fans. Some viewers were glad to see Fiona back on screens.

Others were left disappointed because she didn’t actually return to the Street.

Emma was left even more upset when Steve McDonald revealed that he was her real dad.

Coronation Street fans will remember Fiona was on the cobbles from 1992 till 1998.

During her time on the Street, Fiona worked in Denise Osbourne’s salon as a hairdresser.

She had relationships with Steve McDonald, an affair with Steve’s dad Jim, and had a baby boy named Morgan with Detective Alan McKenna in 1998.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
