And despite her character’s untimely death in the fifth series after Beverley returned to Corrie, she wants to make a comeback.

However, she fears Corrie bosses might not let her rejoin the BBC show.

She told The Sun: “They do keep talking about Two Pints coming back, but I think I would have a problem because it is the BBC and I think Corrie might not.

“But they do keep talking about a one-off special and that Flo would come back as a ghost, which I would love – I would love it!

“And working with Sheridan (Smith) , Will (Mellor) and Natalie (Casey) – I would love that again.”

She added: “What an amazing cast that was and I had the best of both worlds because I had left Coronation Street because I had wanted to do something different and then Sue Nickson, the writer, wrote Flo especially for me because she knows I am mad.”

Earlier this week actor Will Mellor revealed he and the show’s creator, Susan Nickson, had been holding discussions and decided to bring the show back for a special episode.

He said: “Recently, since Two Pints came back, it is on at 11 o’clock every night on Gold, they are showing every episode, people have been messaging me about how much they miss the show and how much it was part of their growing up.

“Saying ‘please bring it back for a special or do something’.

“Well, I have been listening and reading your messages and I think we are going to get a Two Pints special off the ground.

“I spoke to Susan Nickson [the show’s creator] and we are hopefully going to try and get a ‘Two Pints’ special going.”

The BBC have yet to confirm the show’s return.
