Corrie gets a racy new cast member who’ll play Bethany’s lap dancer friend

It will be another big storyline for the troubled teen

Coronation Street has just upped its glamour stakes considerably – by bringing in an actual glamour model!

Mancunian Beth Morgan has reportedly bagged a role on the show after previously doing background work on the series.

The model is set to star alongside Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, in a storyline due to air early in the new year.

Beth says she’s got a bigger role than as an extra – which she’s done recently, appearing in the background of scenes with Kim Marsh and Michelle Connor.

She is scheduled to work alongside Bethany Platt in Weatherfield’s gentleman’s club.

Beth took to Snapchat to post a picture of herself in a racy set of underwear with the caption: “Never thought I would be wearing this at corrie.”

An insider at Corrie told The Sun: “Becoming a lapdancer is about having control over men for Bethany.

“She feels she has power over the punters she’s dancing for because they are paying to watch her but can’t touch her.

“She pities them for wanting her and the fact she refuses to take all her clothes off helps her feel like she’s the one calling the shots.”

Corrie bosses have also spoken of a new romance on the cards for Bethany, with show producer Kate Oates dropping a hint about her love life.

Kate said: “In news that should gladden the heart of even the most Scrooge-like curmudgeon – Bethany will embark on a tentative romance with Craig. Glad tidings indeed!”

Lucy Fallon recently picked up the gong for Best Actress at the Inside Soap Awards 2017.

Her character had been groomed by twisted Nathan Curtis, leading to several intense scenes where she showed off her acting range.
