Coronation Street’s Gary Windass faces violent encounters

But they still think "gullible" Sarah will forgive him...

Coronation Street fans were left shocked last night, when Gary Windass was involved in two horrible violent encounters – one involving a woman.

The builder is in trouble up to his neck, after going on his first debt collecting mission with villain Rick’s accomplice Sharon.

However, after meeting bruiser Sharon, Gary got more than he bargained for when their first job of the day was intimidating another woman – Tyler’s mum Vicky Jefferies.

As Sharon got heavy with Vicky, Gary showed he’s not quite cut out for gangster life as he stepped in to defend Vicky…

Rather than be complicit in attacking her, Gary turned on Sharon instead!

In scenes that left Corrie fans uncomfortable, Gary grabbed Sharon, dragged her across the floor and locked her in a cupboard.

But it’s something he will come to regret as she warned him: “It won’t just be you Rick comes after. It will be your whole family.”

Later, once Sharon had escaped, loanshark Rick came after Gary for failing to go through with the debt collection.

As Gary got a beating, fans were once again appalled by the level of violence.

One said: “Gary is one of my favourites. I could not watch him get beaten.”

Another said: “A really horrible story, more violence and aggression, and nothing to contrast #Corrie.”

A third remarked: “#Corrie Do they have to have violence in Corrie. Can’t we have something nice for a change?”

“Ooh, bloody scenes of violence… #Corrie,” said another.

Twitter fans also predicted that Sarah would once again fall for Gary’s explanation as to why he’d “had a new facelift”.
