Fans of Coronation Street have called for Rob Mallard to win a best actor award after his part in Sinead Tinker’s tragic death storyline.
The actor, who plays Sinead’s husband Daniel in the soap, had fans in tears with his performance in the emotive plot.
His portrayal as Daniel, as he suffered a breakdown while trying to hold it together for dying Sinead and his son Bertie, had viewers in tears.
Fans are now demanding he win all the best acting accolades from next year’s soap related award shows.
One said: “All the awards should go to @KatiexMcGlynn and @Rob_Mallard, this acting is so real, I feel I’m living the situation with them. #Corrie #CoronationStreet.”

Sinead’s final scenes aired last night (25.10.19) after a harrowing run of episodes since she was told her cancer had spread and she had just weeks left.
She told Daniel not to spend his life mourning her and she wanted him to move on but not forget about her, before talking about what their life together would’ve been like.
As Daniel read Bertie a story, Sinead slipped away, leaving viewers devastated, as her husband realised she was gone.

Viewers were understandably devastated by the scenes despite being forewarned, with one tweeting: “I think this might be one of the saddest things I’ve ever watched.
“Unbelievably heartbreaking. Knowing so many people actually go through this so often. It’s just horrendous. #Corrie.”
Another added: “I haven’t watched #Corrie for almost a year but I’m glad I saw tonight’s episode. Very sensitive and moving.”
