Earlier this year, Sally announced she will be walking to Everest Base Camp to raise money for the charity Prevent Breast Cancer.

In November 2009, the actress was diagnosed with breast cancer, the same year as her Corrie character.

Sally underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy for her cancer and after a six month break from the soap, she returned in July 2010.

Recently Sally made a sweet gesture as Brooke Vincent, who plays her Corrie daughter Sophie Webster, went on maternity leave.

Brooke announced earlier this year that she was expecting her first baby with Sheffield United player Kean Bryan.

Brooke’s baby shower was attended by many of her Corrie co-stars including Sally, Lucy Fallon, cousin Ellie Leach, Colson Smith and Jennie McAlpine.
