Coronation Street ‘reveals another return’ ahead of Angela Griffin’s comeback

Could there be more Brookers on the way?

As Coronation Street fans gear up for the return of Angela Griffin as Fiona Middleton, it looks like someone else could be coming back too…

It’s been reported that Fiona is the mother of Emma Brooker and she’ll be returning to break the news that Emma’s dad has died.

In new on-location filming pictures obtained by The Sun Emma is seen attending a funeral, but while there’s no sign of Fiona, the publication claims Fiona’s other child, Morgan Middleton, is there.

Emma can be seen dressed in black for the sombre occasion, accompanied by flatmate and work colleague Maria Connor.

Alongside them is a tall man, believed to be Emma’s big brother, Morgan.

Morgan was the son of Fiona and her fiancé Alan McKenna, but as she’d had an affair with Steve McDonald‘s father Jim, the paternity of Morgan was in doubt, until a test proved Alan was the dad.

Fiona eventually started a relationship and moved in with Steve, but he cheated on her with Maxine Shaw and Fiona left the Street in 1998.

It’s now believed that she was pregnant when she left and the baby is Emma.

But before finding out the truth, Emma’s set to be left devastated by the news the man she thought was her dad has died.

A TV source told The Sun Online: “Emma hasn’t mentioned her family much since arriving on the cobbles but she does love them.

“She’s going to be completely devastated by the sudden death of her dad. She was the apple of his eye and she worshipped him.

“It’s going to be really tough for her. Especially when her mum Fiona visits to tell her the heartbreaking news.”

While Emma is to be told her dad has died, Steve looks set to find out some bombshell news of his own – that he is her real father.

A source recently told The Sun: “Angela’s return is short and sweet but it has huge implications for Steve.

“She’s back on screens and he will find out that the dates that he was with Fiona tally up to when Emma was born.”

Steve’s mum Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard) is expected to work out that Emma, born in 1999, was conceived in 1998 when her son was dating Fiona.

Ever since Alexandra joined the show in April 2018 fans have speculated she could be Fiona’s daughter, because the pair are both hairdressers and have similarities.

However, Alexandra has previously insisted the potential plot is “definitely not true”.
