If acting hadn't worked for him

Ian's Corrie character Geoff Metcalfe is currently on a sticky wicket with the soap's super-fans though after he started controlling Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King).

The actor is hoping viewers don't start to turn on him when he is out and about in real life.

He added to Inside Soap magazine: "I'm not sure they're happy that he's mistreating her.

"People have always been very nice when they recognise me - but I don't know if that will last.
